Travel-ING On Tourism Cooperative

The Travel-ING On Tourism Cooperative has taken an innovative approach towards effective collaboration. Membership is open to any individual, and other entity, who has an interest in the travel, tourism and heritage industries. In a co-op, every voice counts and each is equal, allowing travelers and industry to work together for the benefit of all.

This structure allows for effective collaboration to build on, and enhance, community, local and provincial networks. This makes it easier to connect travellers with services, tourism opportunities, and heritage information where visitors and locals alike can enjoy rich and comprehensive experiences in our beautiful province(s).

Our primary marketing tool is a unique, award-winning mobile app that will initially include map-based guides to 600+ Alberta communities before expansion to the remaining provinces.

Its features include:
● 4,000+ graphically correct, colour-coded icons that identify historical points of interests, businesses, services, and experiences. Additional sites are added on an ongoing basis.
● Each of these icons opens a site listing that includes images, information, contact details, social media links and spaces to add comments and selfies.
● ‘Local Links’ are also accessed through each of the site listings. They give travellers one-touch access to regional tourism information, community calendars, municipal websites and other relevant information.
● ‘Community Menus’ allows the traveller to isolate the local heritage sites and stories, main attractions, outdoor activities, travel and other services in each community or region represented.
● The ‘Near Me’ feature shows travellers a map of the icons (points of interest) in their immediate area.
● Our multi-use ‘Search Function,’ is dynamic and versatile. It is driven by human selected, not robotic, keywords to ensure accurate responses, and, with the touch of a button the results can be shown in a list or map format. Travellers can look for specific products, services or amenities. Creating maps of roadside stops and major attractions such as big icons, museums, or heritage signs is easy for explorers. They can find activity specific sites across the province such as golf or skiing. Annual events, like music festivals and fall fairs can be sorted by the month or activity. Collaborators can use a unique keyword to create walking or driving tours in their community or region. Producers can show their customers the retailers that sell their products. These are but a few of the variety of uses.

For businesses, organizations and communities we offer cost-effective marketing strategies where each business, organization or community has equal exposure – no matter their size. This enables each to participate in effective collaboration with the mutual goal of promoting the hidden gems across our country, and sharing our vibrant, and diverse heritage.
