Medical advancements are progressing rapidly, yet the contemporary lifestyle that leads to obesity, diabetes, and numerous other preventable conditions are affecting millions. The Personal Health Index is a measurement that aims to bridge this gap by translating the latest scientific insights into practical, immediately usable information for individuals. This not only empowers citizens to take charge of their health but also supports our healthcare system in saving millions of dollars annually.
What is the Personal Health Index?
It is a measurement of effort. The more a person shows evidence in taking care of one’s health, in the form of preventative medicine, the more “points” one accumulates.
The Personal Health Index is a branch of the World Civility Index, a larger measurement on a person’s effort to be a contributing member of society for the 21st century. Both indexes are administered by the NGO IITTI, headquartered in Canada, and has been a part of UN Sustainable Development since 2019.
The Personal Health Index focuses on UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #3, good health and well-being. The World Civility Index extends such to include SDG #8, decent jobs.
